Re: limiter straps

Yes and no. Not creating compression in the spring when the suspension is at its mechanical full droop limit, but stopping the droop just before the springs are completely unloaded. (just to be clear for anyone who may not be familiar) That would be the minimum of what I would want to do, and as I ...

Re: limiter straps

My conclusion was that the rules don't really make it clear, but there are people running them. Do you know what classes they are being run in? I am expecting to be using them for more than a "convenience" mod. I stopped caring about this issue a long time ago. I'd have to dig again. If y...

Re: limiter straps

My conclusion was that the rules don't really make it clear, but there are people running them. I never even ended up looking to somebody like Doug Gill for clarification, because I never did end up putting them on. My argument would be that as long as they do nothing when the spring has energy stor...

Re: How worried should I be about this?

I could swap ROMs if I could see the immobilizer code in both roms. I could swap ECUs if I could get the associated key and ignition switch, but Im not sure how to tell which ROM ID is on it before doing that. My ROM ID is the same as the 1.6L. ??? Im not sure what distinguishes the different ROM I...

Don't they still let the fire department run there? Did they ever build that building? The events there weren't terrible, even with only having permission to use half the lot. Might be worth trying again.

Re: How worried should I be about this?

With the 09 2.0, I've never seen open loop at 3500. Running closed loop fueling with ultra conservative timing reduces pumping losses, increases chemical efficiency, and improves emissions at the cost of a little power. IMO, it should run a max power scheme at 95%+ of WOT, and all the rest is good s...

Re: How worried should I be about this?

Most of the hardcore autox guys are doing a big bar and >800lb rates in the rear. I picked up a used Mazdaspeed Motorsports (KW V3?) coilover setup. The rates are 400/290. They came with a set of 500s that fit the front. The rear is an adjustable perch with a tapered spring. Need a 2.5" perch ...

Re: How worried should I be about this?

Just FYI, mine is a 2.3. Sunroof hatchback, so not the lightest of the bunch but I think it'll be good enough as a slight compromise setup. Im not sure when it uses Map yet. Ive seen the MAP table and 2 MAF tables. One MAF table has a very odd offset in the mid air flow range. Everything Ive read s...

Re: How worried should I be about this?

Random other thoughts: What is with the MAF/MAP system? What does it use the MAP for? Why does it insist on persistently leaving the injectors on during coasting any time the ac is on and you have used a lot of throttle recently? Is it possible to disable the AC on with any freaking blower control p...

Re: How worried should I be about this?

There is a huge turbo sized, turbo shaped hole in the engine bay, directly in line with the exhaust manifold. Tons of room for lines. Room for an intercooler. I know from experience that the radiator has a ton more capacity than is necessary stock (ran it with plastic over half of the radiator far i...

Re: How worried should I be about this?

I have no map access. Everything I mention is from real time observation. I definitely think the programming on Autumn's car is biased towards stoich and retard vs more timing and more fuel. I know you could gain economy with less fuel. Also hotter intake air. The 2.0 at least runs about 2 F over am...

Re: How worried should I be about this?

Forgot you had one of these and had these issues. Im assuming this is the 2.3? Or 2.0? At least yours doesnt have 1 oily plug like my "new" one does. Im not sure what you mean by all the time stoich engine. The maps Im looking at on mine sure arent all the time stoich. There is definitely...

Which makes CMC look defunct. Perhaps I am being too sensitive but, do you remember the old site??? :screwy: I'm tiring of putting hours into a project that generally surfaces complaints. Constructive feedback and contributions are welcome. ANy way I'm going to go back to my real job now The old si...

speaking of the website, the "all events are locked in" link from the main page takes you to:

Which makes CMC look defunct.
