Brake fluid flush.

Postby kustomizm » Sun Apr 20, 2014 6:21 pm

I plan to install new pads and flush the fluid too. Any advice on flushing fluid. I have bled my bike's brakes many times and my plow trucks. Only a complete flush on the bike, not a car. I figure use my mighty vac to suck out a bunch if fluid in the reservoir. Then pour in the new stuff then pump and loosen bleeder screw on the farthest caliper.

Changed the fluid today. What a difference. Looked like coffee in the calipers and iced tea in the master cylinder. My pedal is back to normal, I think just a fluid change would have been the way to go before pads. The stock pads may have still had some bite given my new found pressure. Lesson learned.

How old was it Derek? I think 2 years works well for exchange... Some like every year

Absolutely. I will be a yearly maintenance item now. I can't believe the difference.
